Anabosis: PRIME LIFE

Anabosis is a science fiction novel set in the distant future of the Verdian Tales Universe. It focusses on the adventures and experiences of ethicist Emma Grant as she explores the hermit world of Anabosis; a planet where an expansive tech conglomerate conducts top secret research and development free from the burden of law and external oversight. Though not a scientist herself, what Emma discovers along the way could upend the status quo and pull this lonely world out of its isolation.

In Anabosis’ fifth chapter, titled PRIME LIFE, Emma continues her review with the titular project. Prime Life’s research lead, one Dr. David Altoveich, is wrapping up a thirty-year effort to engineer an ‘optimal’ life form and is eager to showcase his work. What this perfected entity ended up being, however, has caused quite the stir among the Anabosian elite, and Emma quickly learns why. Regardless of the project’s outcome, through her discussions with David Emma learns more about Anabosian ambitions and the establishment’s commitment to due and proper scientific process.
